While I often say that, when retired, every day is like Saturday. That’s not entirely true. As I’ve said before, my biggest fear about retirement was that I would have nothing to do. In fact, for us the opposite is true, we have so many activities going on that we don’t have much free time.
Today, we had a “day off.” For the first time in weeks, maybe months, we had no activities or events to attend; no Zumba, no tai chi, no line-dancing, no group walks, no classes, no sorority meetings etc. For the first time in a long time, we both could sleep late without worrying about getting up to attend a morning activity, and we were both free in the morning and afternoon.
We took advantage of the situation by going downtown to breakfast, visiting a nice garden shop, and going to the local theater to see a movie. That was all in the morning after we slept late. This afternoon my lovely wife is working on her garden, and I’m preparing chicken cordon bleu for dinner.
Life is good.
